How to check attendees in by QR Code
Scan the ticket's QR Code from the mobile app or a web browser — validation takes under 1 second.
Check-in on Baila is done by scanning the ticket's QR Code — through the mobile app (iOS and Android) or through a web browser with a camera. Validation comes back in under a second and shows the status (VALID, INVALID, or ALREADY USED) on screen.
Getting ready before the event
Download the Baila app from the App Store or Google Play. Sign in with your organizer account (or with a staff user you created) and, in your profile, switch to the Organizer view.
Pick the event from the list in the app. If you have several events on the same day, double-check you chose the right one before you start.
Optional: pre-load the ticket list so you can use offline mode (see the dedicated article). Ideal for events at venues with poor signal.
Before opening the doors, run a quick test: scan the QR Code of a ticket that has already been issued. Confirm the read works and that the phone has enough battery.
Running the check-in
As each attendee arrives, point the device's camera at the ticket's QR Code (on their phone screen or printed). The scanner picks it up automatically and returns one of three results:
- VALID (green) — let them in. The current holder's name shows on screen.
- INVALID (red) — the QR Code is unknown, from another event, revoked, or its HMAC signature is invalid. Do not let them in.
- ALREADY USED (red) — the ticket has been used before. The screen shows "Ticket already used" and the time of the earlier check-in, so you can check.
Check-in from a web browser
If you do not have the app, Baila offers check-in from a browser at vaidebaila.app/checkin. Just sign in and allow camera access. It works on any device with a modern camera (Chrome, Safari, Firefox).
