What the Baila 3% fee is and when it is charged

Understand how the Baila 3% fee is captured through split payments — with no extra charge for you.

Baila charges 3% of the gross value of every paid ticket sold through the platform. That fee is split off automatically by Asaas (the payment gateway) at the moment of the charge, using split payments — you never have to pay anything separately or remember to hand it over.

How the fee is captured

Because you use your own Asaas account (BYOG — Bring Your Own Gateway), the charge lands directly in your account. Baila only adds a split that separates the 3% and routes that amount to the Baila account. It happens at payment time: the buyer pays R$ 100, R$ 3 goes to Baila, and you keep R$ 97 — all in a single transaction.

When the fee is charged

The fee applies only to paid tickets processed through Asaas. Cases where the fee is zero:

  • Free events (tier price = 0)
  • Tickets issued through a transfer (no new charge is created)
  • Exempt tiers (special partnership cases — talk to sales)

Refunds and chargebacks

When you refund an order (or lose a chargeback), Baila marks the order as refunded, cancels the tickets, and records that sale's fee as refunded — this stays in your history for accounting. If you have a question about the return of the 3% itself, get in touch with us through support.

Where to see it in the dashboard

In the dashboard, open Billing. There you see, for each event:

  • Gross revenue — the total sold
  • VaideBaila fee — the percentage applied (3%)
  • Fee amount — what that adds up to in reais
  • Net — what is left for you

How it compares to the market

The BYOG + 3% model was designed to be the lowest cost in the Brazilian market — the organizer keeps the margin to grow.

Common questions

  • Is there a sign-up fee or a monthly subscription? No. Only the 3% fee on paid sales.
  • Do I need to issue an invoice for the fee? Because you use your own Asaas account (BYOG), the tax side of your sales is your responsibility. Sort that out with your accountant.
  • Can I pass the fee on to the buyer? Yes — just adjust the ticket price to include the cost. The system does not break out a "fee" from the "face value" at checkout (a deliberate UX decision).
