Getting started

What the BYOG model is and how it works on Baila

Understand why ticket money lands straight in your Asaas account — without ever passing through Baila.

BYOG stands for Bring Your Own Gateway. On Baila that means the ticket money never passes through our account: buyers pay straight into your Asaas (the payment gateway) account, and Baila only orchestrates the sale, generates the QR Code, and records the confirmation through a webhook.

Why we use this model

In short: you keep control of the money. Baila handles the sale, the QR Code, and delivering the ticket. Asaas handles the payment and the payout.

The full flow of a BYOG sale

  1. A buyer clicks Buy Ticket on one of your events
  2. Baila creates a charge at Asaas using your API key
  3. Asaas processes the payment (PIX, Brazil's instant bank transfer, or card) and credits your account
  4. Asaas sends a confirmation webhook to Baila (PAYMENT_RECEIVED for PIX, PAYMENT_CONFIRMED for card)
  5. Baila generates the QR Code and emails it to the buyer

The whole flow takes a few seconds for PIX, and up to 2 minutes for a confirmed card payment.
