How to create your first event, step by step
The complete walkthrough for publishing your first event on Baila — from the title to the first ticket sold.
Once you have created the account, set up the profile with a CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID) or CNPJ (Brazilian company tax ID), and connected the Asaas gateway, you are ready to publish your first event. This guide covers the whole flow, from creating the event to the first sale.
The complete walkthrough
In the dashboard, click Events → Create event. You land in a 4-step wizard with a progress bar at the top.
On the Information step, fill in the title, category, start and end date and time, venue (pick a saved venue or create a new one right in the field), and a short description with the vibe of the event. If you want to shut out scalpers right here, fill in Ticket limit per CPF (whole event) — leave it blank for unlimited.
Still on Information, upload the cover image. The recommended size is 1200x630px, at most 5 MB, in JPG, PNG, or WebP. That image shows up in the public listing and in the share preview (OpenGraph). Click Next.
On the Lots step — a lot is what the dashboard calls a ticket tier — click + Add lot. For each tier set a name (for example, "Early bird — floor"), a price, a quantity, and the sales window (start and end). This is also where each tier gets its Allow transfer option, its Transfer limit field (how many times the ticket can be passed along in a chain; blank = unlimited), and a Limit per CPF in this tier.
On the Review step, check how the event turned out. Click Save draft if you want to come back later, or Publish to put it live. As soon as you publish, the event is visible on its public page (/en-us/events/<id>) — share the link on your channels to start selling.
Finally, on the Artists step, build the line-up: search under Search artist... and add whoever is playing (if you cannot find someone, you can Suggest a new artist). Click Finish or, if it does not apply, Skip.
Done. From here on, follow sales through the event's Metrics: a chart per tier, a promoter leaderboard, and check-in refreshed every 5 seconds.
If it is a free event, you do not need a gateway at all: set the tier price to zero and publish. Baila issues the ticket right after the buyer signs up, with no fee.
Pre-publish checklist
Before you publish, double-check:
- The date and time are right in the Brasilia time zone
- The cover image is sharp and does not crop anything important
- At least one tier has a price and a quantity set
- The description has been proofread (typos hurt buyer confidence)
- If the event is paid, the Asaas gateway is validated in your profile
