CPF purchase limits

How to enable and configure the per-CPF purchase limit

Set how many tickets each CPF can buy for your event — it keeps scalpers and abusive holds out.

The per-CPF limit is a rule setting how many tickets for one event a single person (identified by their CPF, the Brazilian taxpayer ID) can acquire. It is one of the main tools against scalping and abusive holds — you set it in a single field in the dashboard.

Turning it on, step by step

In the dashboard, open the event under Events → click the event you want.

Scroll the event detail page down to the Limit per CPF section.

In the Ticket limit per CPF (whole event) field, type how many tickets each CPF can buy (for example, 4 to cap every person at 4 tickets across the whole event). Leave the field blank for no limit.

Click Save limit. The rule takes effect immediately — for new purchases and for transfers received.

If you are still creating the event, that same field appears on the basic-information step — there the button is Next.

Special values

Two special values: leaving the field blank means unlimited; 0 means blocked — no CPF can buy tickets at all (useful for a pre-sale restricted to guests holding a coupon).

Turning it on when sales are already running

You can set the limit on an event that is already selling. The rule applies to the next purchases: from then on, Baila starts counting tickets per CPF and blocks anyone going over the limit. Purchases made earlier are not revoked.

Event-level limit vs tier-level limit

On top of the event-level limit (this article), you can set limits per tier. The two combine — if both exist, Baila applies the more restrictive one to each purchase. See the dedicated article to understand when to use each.
