How a promoter's affiliate link injects the coupon automatically
Understand the link a promoter shares — the coupon is applied at checkout without the buyer typing anything.
A promoter's affiliate link turns their slug into an automatic discount plus tracking. When the promoter shares the link, the buyer reaches the event with the coupon already applied. It is that coupon which credits the sale to the promoter in the reports; the link's UTM parameters feed the organizer's channel reports.
The shape of the link
The affiliate link follows this pattern:
https://vaidebaila.app/events/<event-id>?ref=<promoter-slug>The portal detects the ref in the URL, stores the <promoter-slug> coupon in the browser, and applies it by itself at checkout. The UTMs (utm_source=promoter, utm_medium=affiliate, utm_content=<slug>) live in that tab's session and go into the organizer's channel reports.
Where the promoter finds the link
In the promoter dashboard (a separate app at promoter.vaidebaila.app), on the My Links page, each event has a Copy button (with WhatsApp and Share next to it). The link arrives ready, with the UTMs injected automatically.
What the buyer sees
From the buyer's side, the flow is invisible:
- They click the link the promoter shared
- They land on the event page as normal
- When they open checkout, the discount applies by itself and the Promoter coupon applied notice shows up (the buyer types no code; the coupon field stays empty)
- There is nothing to type — they just check the discount and pay
Sales attribution
Even if the buyer does not buy right away, the coupon code stays stored in their browser. If they come back days later and buy, the coupon is reapplied by itself at checkout and the sale goes to the promoter. It is the coupon that holds the attribution over time — what credits the promoter in the reports is always the coupon. The UTMs (utm_source=promoter and friends) live only in the current tab and feed the organizer's channel reports, not the promoter's count.
What happens if the buyer removes the coupon by hand
If the buyer removes the coupon at checkout, the sale stops counting for the promoter. Every bit of promoter attribution (clicks, sales, revenue in the dashboard) depends on the coupon being on the purchase. Without the coupon, the organizer still records where the visit came from (the utm_source) in their own channel reports, but that sale does not show up in that promoter's numbers.
