How to enable or disable ticket transfers per tier
Control tier by tier which tickets can be transferred between buyers.
Ticket transfers are configured per tier, not for the whole event. That lets you, for instance, keep the floor tier freely transferable while the VIP tier (with its exclusive perks) stays locked to the original buyer. A tier is what the dashboard calls a lot.
Setting it up, step by step
On the event dashboard, go to the Lots section and click the tier you want to adjust. The tier's edit form opens right there, just below.
Find the Allow transfer option and tick or untick it as you need.
Ticked, the tier can be transferred; unticked, it is locked. The change takes effect immediately — for tickets that have not been transferred yet, the new rule applies from now on.
Click Save changes.
What happens when it is disabled
If you disable transfers on a tier that already has transferred tickets, those tickets stay with their current holder — they do not go back to the original buyer. Only new transfer attempts are blocked. The "Transfer" button still shows for the buyer, but on trying to send, the transfer is refused because the tier does not allow transfers.
When to keep it disabled
Good reasons to lock transfers on a tier:
- VIP with a personalized wristband — perks that need a confirmed identity
- A ticket with a named freebie (a T-shirt, a kit) printed in advance
- An exclusive pre-sale with a selection criterion (friends, guests, club members)
- A half-price student ticket — checking the document against the name requires the holder to be the buyer
Gift checkout ignores this lock
An important exception: gifting at purchase time ignores this lock. Whoever buys can gift, even on a tier marked non-transferable. The lock only applies to transfers made after the purchase. This is intentional.
