How to duplicate an event as a template

Copy an event's basics (title, date, venue, description) as a starting point — the tiers and the image you set up again.

If you run recurring events (monthly parties, weekly workshops), duplicating a previous event saves time: the title, the description, the category, the date, and the venue come ready-made, and you only adjust what changed. The tiers and the cover image you redo in the new draft.

Step by step

In the dashboard, go to Events and open the event you want to use as a template.

On the event page, click the Duplicate event button. It shows up on any event that is not cancelled.

A new draft is created with the title prefixed by Copy of (for example, "Copy of Winter Festival"). It already carries the original's description, category, date, and venue.

Open the draft and adjust the title, the date, and the time. Then rebuild the tiers from scratch — they do not come along in the copy — and upload the cover image again.

Save and publish as usual. You can edit any field before publishing.

What gets copied

  • Title (prefixed with Copy of), description, and category
  • Date, time, and time zone
  • Venue and address (or the link, for an online event)

What does not get copied

You rebuild these in the new draft: the tiers (name, price, quantity, sales window), the cover image, the coupons, the per-CPF limits, and the line-up artist links. And of course no sales, buyers, issued tickets, check-ins, or transfer history come along. The new event starts from zero — it is only a skeleton for you to fill in.

Tip: keep a "template" event

Plenty of organizers create an event as a permanent draft with the description, category, and venue already polished, and use it purely to duplicate from. That way you always have a starting point ready without ever publishing it — bearing in mind you still build the tiers and the cover on every copy.
